Love love love！ The writing on this book is SO GOOD and hooks you immediately！ It has a compelling lead character with a tragic driving back story， mystery， intrigue， subterfuge， spice… check all the boxes for what makes a fantastic fantasy novel and this has them！ I couldn’t put it down。 Reminded me of Crescent City and a had some ACOTR vibes。

I gobbled this book UP like Thanksgiving dinner。 WHEW 🦃 I loved the chemistry between the two main characters。 Rowan's character is a breath of fresh air compared to female protagonists I've had the not-so-wonderful pleasure of coming across recently。 I liked that she didn't nag/complain so much BUT this is coming from someone who's perpetually traumatized by Catalina Martín and her incessant drivel from The Spanish Love Deception。 The writing style is just right。 Not too flowery， clear-cut， fas I gobbled this book UP like Thanksgiving dinner。 WHEW 🦃 I loved the chemistry between the two main characters。 Rowan's character is a breath of fresh air compared to female protagonists I've had the not-so-wonderful pleasure of coming across recently。 I liked that she didn't nag/complain so much BUT this is coming from someone who's perpetually traumatized by Catalina Martín and her incessant drivel from The Spanish Love Deception。 The writing style is just right。 Not too flowery， clear-cut， fast-paced。 I enjoyed its pacing， but I wish there had been more world-building。 I felt the concept of this human x demon world， although intriguing， was poorly executed。 I was a little confused in the beginning; initially， I actually thought that I had skipped some pages because we were introduced to this world via a phone call and text messages between Rowan and her best friend， Shai casually talking about demons and revenge。 But every now and then bits and bobs of their world eventually revealed themselves like a second-thought。 🤷🏻‍♀️ And some things were pretty predictable but this is the first book I've read involving succubi/incubi romances so needless to say I've already pre-ordered the second book to this series cause that cliffhanger was a bitch。 👿 。。。more

well this definitely had potential。。。for me this was definitely disappointing。 Really had high hopes， the story arc was good， and it felt like the writer wanted to finish the book off in a hurry。 Although there is a second book probably for the next year， not sure if I will pick it up again ！！
